After years of wandering, Logan Creed, a cowboy with a dusty law degree, has returned home. To put down roots, to restore his family’s neglected ranch…to have kids of his own proudly bearing the Creed name.
Divorced mom Briana Grant has heard the stories about her gorgeous neighbor. So Logan’s kindness with her young boys is a welcome surprise, especially when her ex reappears. And when an unknown enemy vandalizes her home, Logan shows Briana—and the folks of Big Sky country—just what he’s made of.
This is the first book that I have read by Linda Lael Millerand let me tell you…wow! After making money with his self-help legal service, Logan Creed decides to return to his family ranch in Stillwater Springs. The ranch has fallen into a state of disrepair since the death of his father, and even though there has been a falling out with his brothers, Dylan and Tyler, Logan wants to go back and bring the ranch back to the state it was in years prior.
What he doesn’t expect to encounter are Briana Grant and her two young sons, Josh and Alec. After leaving the ranch to pursue his dreams, Dylan offered the use of his brothers’ house to Briana after her husband runs off leaving her to fend for herself. The chemistry between Dylan and Briana is immediate, and the relationship that forms between them is as good as any romance that I have ever read.
The thing I find so extraordinary about the writing is that all of the characters are dysfunctional in some way, yet they find the person that best compliments them and fills the void in a way that is desperately needed. This is definitely not the last book that I will read by this wonderful author!
Lily Kenyon left Stillwater Springs years ago, but has returned to help her father recover from a heart attack, and to try and make a fresh start. Being a single mom isn’t easy, but she feels that Stillwater Springs might be the place for her to start a new life with her daughter, a place that has memories, both good and bad.
The Creed brothers have had problems, but nothing will keep them off of their ranch, trying to restore their family bond. And Tyler is no different. A former rodeo star, he is arrogant and thinks that people should look up to him for all of his accomplishments. What he doesn’t expect is to have Lily Kenyon back in her life. The history they have hangs heavy between the two – will they rekindle a flame that they thought went out years ago?
This is the second book in the Montana Creeds series and it is certainly not my last. Ms. Miller has such an excellent way of writing her characters to make them jump off of the page, and the emotion that they exhibit is exceptional! Watching these characters try and overcome there past and rooting them on was a joy. I would highly recommend this book!
